Position Summary:
The Landscape Installation Estimator & Project Manager is a detail-oriented, office-based role responsible for preparing competitive and accurate cost estimates for commercial landscape construction projects. This role plays a vital part in pre-construction planning, job package development, progress tracking, and billing throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to ensure the smooth execution of projects and uphold the company’s standards of quality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:

Site Assessments: Perform pre-bid site visits to evaluate existing conditions, gather relevant data, and assess project scope and challenges.

Estimating: Develop detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing for commercial landscape installation projects.

Design Review: Collaborate with landscape architects and designers to interpret project specifications and ensure accurate alignment with estimating parameters.

Bid Preparation: Assemble complete and competitive bid packages, including digital takeoffs, cost breakdowns, and scope documentation for client submission.

Change Order Management: Draft and track change orders throughout project execution to reflect scope changes and maintain budget integrity.

Procurement Coordination: Identify, source, and secure materials, equipment, and subcontractors based on project needs, quality standards, and cost effectiveness.

Contract Support: Assist in negotiating project contracts with clients and subcontractors to achieve favorable and compliant terms.

Construction Support: Partner with project managers during construction phases to provide clarification, resolve field issues, and support progress billing.

Job Progress Tracking: Monitor project milestones, assist with documentation, and contribute to monthly billing and reporting cycles.

Required Skills
Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Horticulture, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in landscape construction estimating or project management.

Proficiency with estimating tools and project management software (e.g., LMN, Aspire, or similar platforms).

Solid knowledge of landscape construction practices, estimating standards, and industry materials.

Excellent communication, analytical, and time-management skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational discipline.

Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams.

Professional appearance and conduct in all client and internal interactions.

Valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred).
