The Estate Gardening Horticulturist Assistant is a hands-on position that provides estate landscape maintenance services and performs specific planning and regulatory functions.
Estate Gardening Horticulturist Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Work independently under the direction of the site horticulturist.
· Mowing, raking, digging, and weeding of estate property landscapes.
· Load and unload heavy equipment and plant materials as needed.
· Schedule and manage daily workloads.
· Plan, coordinate, and collect equipment and job materials each day.
· Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings.
· Maintain on-site relations and communications with clients, contractors and/or subcontractors.
· Monitor and maintain landscape lighting controller (changing times, replacing bulbs, etc...)
Safe operation and maintenance of the following landscaping equipment:
· Mowers - Push, walk behind, and ride.
· Tillers, aerators, and slit seeders.
· Edgers, string trimmers and chainsaws
· Backpack blowers and sprayers.
· Hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes, and pruning tools.
· On occasion, wheel tractors.
Pay/Benefits Package
· $650 - $850 Weekly Salary

*Must wear sturdy shoes, company uniforms, and assigned PPE
*Must present yourself in a professional, polite manner
*Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
*Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required
*Must be able to pass a criminal background check
*Must be willing to obtain NC Pesticide applicator license
*Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
*Must comply with Bland's policies and procedures
