Job Description:
The Landscape Installation Estimator and Project Manager is a primarily in-office position responsible for plan takeoff, estimating, pre-construction administration, job package assembly, job progress tracking, and progress billing for landscape installation. The Estimator will promote teamwork throughout the company.
Responsibilities – Included but not limited to.
- Site Visits: Conduct thorough site inspections to assess existing conditions, identify project requirements, and gather necessary data for estimating.
- Estimating: Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial landscape construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Design Review: Collaborate with landscape architects and designers to review project plans and specifications, ensuring accurate interpretation and cost estimation.
- Bid Preparation: Assemble comprehensive bid packages, including digital renderings, specifications, and cost estimates, for submission to clients.
- Change Orders: Manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate cost adjustments and maintaining project profitability.
- Procurement: Source and select materials, equipment, and subcontractors based on quality, cost, and availability.
- Contract Negotiation: Participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Project Management Support: Provide support to project managers during the construction phase, including answering questions, resolving issues, and assisting with progress tracking.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial landscape construction estimating.
- Strong understanding of estimating techniques, project management, and landscaping installation & construction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Present yourself in a professional, neat, and polite manner.
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and have/maintain a good driving record.
- Adhere to Bland landscaping policy and procedures
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Must be able to work independently
- Must have computer skills and to estimate, plan, and manage projects using computer software
