Aquatics Construction & Repair Services (CRS) Technician

Primary Function:

The CRS Technician is responsible for assisting the CRS division in the completion of CRS related tasks. This requires job-related skills and ability to perform in a team environment with the CRS division. The CRS Technician will strive to uphold the Core Values and Vision of FLPM.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the CRS Associate Project Manager with providing and preparing necessary materials and equipment necessary to complete the project.                                                                  20%

·         Assists the CRS Associate Project Manager with obtaining materials and equipment specified for a project.

·         Works under the direct supervision of the CRS Project Manager, CRS Associate Project Manager and with team members to perform job-related tasks to complete projects effectively and efficiently.

·         Learn and become proficient in basic equipment maintenance.

Implement Effective Communication                                                                                    20%

·         Communicate effectively with the CRS Division Manager and CRS team members.

·         Responsible for keeping the CRS Division Manager and CRS Project Manager updated on equipment needs, personnel concerns and any other needs for the CRS division to be effective, efficient, and profitable.

·         Communicate effectively with customers, supervisor, and other FLPM employees always.

·         Respond to company emails within 2 business days.

·         Respond to company texts and phone calls during working hours.

Assist the CRS Associate Project Manager with preparation and completion of job-related tasks.

·         Ensure proper safety equipment and precautions are implemented.

·         Assists in the mobilization and demobilization of the project.

·         Uses skills acquired from training to grow as a CRS team member and to obtain greater responsibility with crew oversight and Associate Project Manager skills.

Be Proficient in the Use of Company Software Platforms                                               20%

·         Effective communication through client reporting software based on supervisor feedback.

·         Effective time management through proper use of time tracking app with less than 25% admin time Be familiar with our vehicle maintenance system and complete inspections by deadline.

·         Check the company calendar daily on workdays and update when necessary.

·         Complete company self-check ins and other requested human resource items by sated deadline.

 

 

Use Effective Communication Methods                                                                            20%

·         Provide 2 pieces of Feedback in our human resource software monthly.

·         Communicate effectively with customers, supervisor, and other FLPM employees always. Respond to company emails within 2 business days when necessary.

·         Respond to company phone calls and text messages during work hours.

Participate and Assist in Training Opportunities                                                             20%

·         Be proficient in basic equipment maintenance and be able to perform all tasks on the proficiency check list.

·         Be proficient in facility maintenance and be able to perform all tasks on the proficiency check list.

·          Attend at least 1 company led training annually.

·         Keep certification and licenses current through continuing education credits (CEUs) and/or additional training.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

·         Position requires a minimum of a high school degree or GED. An associate degree or related experience in landscaping, environmental management, water resources, fisheries science or stormwater device maintenance is preferred.

·         Helpful knowledge and experience including:

o    Aquatic Vegetation Management

o    Freshwater Fishery Management

o    Turf Establishment and Maintenance

o    Trash and Debris Removal

o    Safe Boat operation & Trailering

o    Electric Motor Installations

o    Heavy Equipment Operation

·         Comprehend the function of stormwater devices and the maintenance expected in Operations & Maintenance Manuals.

·         Familiarity with computers and general business software is desirable.

·         Ability to operate and maintain hand tools, small equipment and pumps or be willing to learn.

·         Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

·         Have a positive attitude, professional behavior, and willingness to do whatever is necessary to complete the job.

·         Ability to withstand strenuous physical activities.

·         Regularly lift or move up to 80 pounds.

·         Be comfortable working in and around water and mud.

·         Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environmental hazards.

·         Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

·         Allow FLPM to pull their motor vehicle record (MVR) from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DVM). To be hired you must have an acceptable record.

·         Will encounter job sites on both residential and commercial property. May also be exposed to homeowner’s pets.

·         Capable of traveling and occasional overnight trips may be required. Completed North Carolina SCM Certification Class

·         Obtain the North Carolina Aquatic Pesticide Application license and be knowledgeable about appropriate pesticide use and application equipment.

·         Ability to observe, anticipate and relate detailed notes and observations to Service Manager Ability to identify and relate potential maintenance and repair opportunities and needs Ability to identify and control most undesirable vegetation problems.

·         Proficient with basic fountain and aeration system troubleshooting and maintenance.
