This is a Junior Landscape Technician position for minors between 16-18 years of age who possess a NC Youth Employment Certificate. The goal of this position is to help NC Youth develop a passion for working outside and learning more about landscaping and the possibilities of developing a long term career in the green industry.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Detail work such as picking up sticks, watering flower, and weeding of landscapes
• Load and unload equipment and planting materials from trucks
• Safe operation of the following equipment:
• Push Mowers
• Edger's, String Trimmers, and Blowers
• Hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes and pruning tools

*May be asked to help in other divisions such as installation or floriculture as needed
*May be asked to help with snow removal in winter months

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
• Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks
• Ability to follow oral instructions from Foreman or Crew Leader
• Must wear work boots, Bland landscaping uniforms present yourself in a clean and polite manner
• Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
• Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required
• Must comply with Bland's policies and procedures
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
