Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”).
PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible.

Bienvivir is currently accepting applications for the following position:
SPEECH PATHOLOGY CLERK
Under the supervision of the Speech Language Pathologist, the Speech Language Pathology CLERK may participate in activities approved and assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist. The Speech Language Pathology CLERK may not engage in direct intervention or assessment activities. The position facilitates the daily operation of the Speech Therapy department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares materials for use by the Speech Language Pathologist relating to evaluation, intervention, or home exercise programs.
2. Assists with setting up room and equipment for evaluation, intervention, or conference.
3. Disinfects and stores equipment after Speech Therapy evaluation, intervention, or conference.
4. Transports clients to and from Speech Therapy sessions.
5. Monitors and reviews Speech Therapy physician orders.
6. Provides basic hearing aid and assistive listening device maintenance and education regarding use.
7. Communicates with contracted Audiology office regarding hearing aid repairs or pending documentation.
8. Updates and distributes hearing aid and assistive listening device lists on a monthly basis.
9. Completes monthly follow ups with participants on thickened liquid consistencies, and participants who utilize hearing aids or assistive listening devices, and documents on the Electronic Medical Record.
10. Assists with communication stimulation situations.
11. Assists with follow-ups regarding speech therapy recommendations.
12. Updates and distributes lists of participants on thickened liquids and assistive feeding devices on a monthly basis.
13. Attends and serves as back-up for Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) morning and care plan meetings, when the Speech Language Pathologist is unable to attend.
14. Develops spreadsheets for tracking of Speech Therapy department activities.
15. Assists with scheduling of evaluations and therapy, via submission of transportation request forms and communication with family/caregivers regarding the schedule.
16. Orders and tracks office/therapy supplies.
17. Updates and enters documentation into the Electronic Medical Record as assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist.
18. Coordinates participant care with Durable Medical Equipment department regarding delivery of thickening agent.
19. Assists with Meal Tray Passing as needed.
20. Adheres to organization Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Bienvivir standards for daily chart documentation, as well as administrative documentation.
21. Provides coverage for the PACE Center Director Administrative Assistant as needed.
22. Other duties as assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have minimum (1) year experience working with the frail or elderly.
3. Must have clerical experience.
4. Must have valid CPR certification and valid Food Handler’s Card.
5. Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
6. Must have reliable transportation as this position requires travel to all Bienvivir centers and sites as necessary, this includes but is not limited to; nursing homes, hospitals, doctor’s offices, and patient’s homes.
