Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”).

PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible.

Bienvivir is currently accepting applications for the following position:

Clinic Manager (RN)

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Clinic Manager provides administrative and clinical leadership to clinic staff and is responsible for the overall daily operations of the nursing component of the assigned day health center. The Clinic Manager works with the IDT to achieve desirable participant outcomes in a manner that is fully integrated with day center operations and operates within regulatory requirements mandated of a PACE organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervise direct clinic staff and delegate authority and responsibility when appropriate.

2. Will attend and participate in Morning, Care Plan, and PCP Meetings.

3. Work with other Clinic Managers and Director of Nursing to review department policy and procedures on an annual basis and make recommended revisions via appropriate committees and standard operating procedures.

4. Audit various clinic functions and nursing staff documentation on a regular basis for quality control and standard operation purposes.

5. Coordinate with Support Services to evaluate/monitor the authorization of ‘special trips’, clinic appointments, and specialists for appropriateness and efficiency.

6. Supervise clinic clerical support personnel and functions.

7. Ensures all clinic staff positions are appropriately and adequately staffed. Collaborate with other Clinic Managers and Director of Nursing to maintain appropriate staffing levels in accordance with established panel ratios. The Clinic Manager may assist with those panels when needed and communicate staffing issues to the Director of Nursing.

8. Responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all participant assessments.

9. Coordinates with Human Resources and local education institutions in order to provide clinical practice opportunities to nursing and other clinic/medical service students.

10. Participate in the hiring process to include the interviewing and hiring of new clinic staff, performance counseling, performance evaluations, and New Employee Orientation presentations as assigned.

11. Verifies clinic staff timesheets. Responsible for the management and justification of clinic staff overtime.

12. Oversees on-going development and deployment of the department training curriculum. Coordinate with Director of Nursing to conduct annual clinic staff competencies. Responsible for ensuring clinic staff receive a thorough department orientation upon hire.

13. Responsible for tracking, documenting and reporting of required QA/PI reports, attend QA/PI meetings and ensures the overall clinic QA/PI plan and initiative are being carried through.

14. Ensure that nursing components of participant electronic medical records are maintained in compliance with Federal and State regulations. Audit nursing EMR documentation to ensure entries are appropriate, accurate, and timely.

15. Responsible for grievance and incident reports assigned to the clinic, ensuring reports are investigated, documentation is complete, and reports are filed in a timely manner as per protocol.

16. Ensures all Level II reporting guidelines and requirements are adhered to for those reports requiring clinic attention/action.

17. Participate as a member of committees and attend organization meetings as appropriate and assigned.

18. Works with Director of Nursing, Medical Director, and Pharmacy to coordinate annual immunization program for participants.

19. Ensures clinic staff maintain appropriate supply levels and authorize ordering of supplies via established requisition system protocols. Regularly audits conducted ensuring waste is managed.

20. Participates in annual budgetary planning for the department and ensures the clinic operates within set budgetary parameters throughout the fiscal year.

21. Meet at least weekly with the Director of Nursing to report on the status of clinic operations and discuss issues.

22. Serves as member of Nursing Cross-Site meetings with other center Clinic Managers and Director of Nursing.

23. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

1. A graduate of an accredited nursing program with a license to practice in the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse. Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.

2. One year of experience with a frail or elderly population.

3. Three years of supervisory experience preferred.

4. CPR Certified
