Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”).
PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible.

Bienvivir is currently accepting applications for the following position:
CHAPLIN
Under the supervision of the Social Worker Manager, provides a continuum of services designed to meet the religious and spiritual needs of Bienvivir participants and their families/caregivers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts initial visits with participants upon team referral to establish a relationship, assess spiritual needs and follow-up on individualized pastoral needs.
2. Visits participants as notified by the Comfort Care team and conducts follow-up on the referrals for Chaplain Services.
3. Provides for the sacramental and other spiritual needs of participants by referral to the appropriate clergy.
4. Provides the on-call staff with participant church contact information.
5. Participates in family conferences when requested by the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
6. Intervenes at times of crisis and offers bereavement ministry upon IDT referral.
7. Refers families/caregivers to community bereavement services, as needed.
8. Participates in the planning and execution of the Annual Memorial service.
9. Acts as a resource to Recreation Department who schedule spiritual and religious services for participants.
10. Maintains records, submits reports, and documents each participant contact in the Emergency Medical Record (Prime Suite).
11. Follows all Bienvivir Policies and Procedures.
12. Maintains the confidentiality of all Bienvivir procedures, results, and information related to participants, families, and staff, insuring compliance with HIPPA.
13. Supports the Rights of the participants.
14. Serves as an Organization resource on spiritual needs of the older adult
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education: Have a completed graduate-level degree in theology, divinity, religious studies, pastoral ministry, pastoral studies, or spirituality from an accredited academic institution. Completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at an accredited academic institution.
2. Certification: The Chaplain is Board Certified by any of the following organizations: Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops/Commission of Certification and Accreditation (USCCB/CCA), or the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC/ACSS) or other strategic partners.
3. Experience: At least one-year experience providing related services to a geriatric population required.
4. Bilingual Spanish/English.
