Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”).
PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible.

Bienvivir is currently accepting applications for the following position:
PHARMACY TECH 1
The Pharmacy Technician I (Tech I) supports pharmacists in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality comprehensive medication services to BSHS participants and may perform only nonjudgmental technician duties associated with the preparation and dispensing of prescription drugs as described by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Tech I will also assist with managing inventory, medication delivery
logistics, maintaining clear communication with clinic staff and participants, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Tech I will be assigned primarily to the filling and scanning-out workstations and may work in multiple areas of the pharmacy as directed to maintain competency and broaden skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follow all company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
a. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
b. Follow all HIPAA, state, and federal pharmacy laws
c. Maintain excellent attendance to schedules
d. Stay on task throughout the day and contribute to team effort
2. Fill prescription orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
a. Retrieve the correct stock bottle and scan the barcode to verify correct NDC was selected
i. Accurately measure, count, label, prepare and package medications while prioritizing orders based upon due dates/times
▪ Mediset compliance packs/blisterpacks/vials/bottles/reconstitutables
▪ Operate tablet counting machines (Kirby-Lester) and automated pharmacy system (Parata Max2)
• Load bulk unlabeled drugs and generate report for verification by a pharmacist
3. Responsible for maintaining timely, accurate and efficient medication sign-out
a. Seal and sort transparent plastic ziplock bags from the pharmacist(s)
i. Ensure delivery receipt is in the bag and matches the name on the labels and medication containers
ii. Organize/pack and place sealed bags in their designated delivery tote
b. Scan each prescription label in BZQ and create ticket numbers for pick up and signature capture by BSHS staff
c. Coordinate deliveries with transportation team/clinic staff member
4. Manage inventory, including stocking shelves, rotating stock, checking expiration dates, and placing orders
a. Receive drug inventory and maintain adequate inventory of stock and supplies
b. Check products received daily from McKesson correspond to the invoice(s) and report any discrepancies
c. Log expired products for pharmacist review
5. Provide friendly, professional assistance to BSHS staff/participants regarding prescription pick-up, refill timing, and general pharmacy questions, while triaging calls that require a pharmacists’ attention.
6. Perform record keeping and clerical functions
a. File and retrieve pharmacy records as required (MARs/refills/new prescriptions)
b. Establish and maintain office and general files for the department
7. Process refill requests when ordered in a timely manner
8. Assists with all departmental support functions.
9. May be required to perform additional duties related to the prescription process or operation of the pharmacy not mentioned in the duties above.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
2. Current TSBP Pharmacy Technician Registration Certificate in good standing
3. PTCB National certification (CPhT) (must have initial certification only)
4. Complete continuing education requirements.
