Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Service Tech

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Durable Medical Equipment Service Tech will maintain equipment for Bienvivir Participants. Durable Medical Equipment Service Tech will report to the DME Supervisor and will participate in the multi-disciplinary team approach.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the cleaning and proper disinfection of all DME Equipment.
2. Maintain inventory of maintenance parts and equipment necessary for DME maintenance, notify DME Supervisor at appropriate intervals.
3. Report daily to DME Supervisor giving a summary of the day’s work.
4. Tag and identify BSHS DME in TrackAbout.
5. Assist with update of DME inventory in storage at the Support Center.
6. Assist with the deliveries of medical supplies to the centers.
7. Assist with the deliveries of incontinence supplies and supplements to patients home, assisted living and nursing homes.
8. Maintain warehouse area used for DME, center supplies and miscellaneous storage.
9. Attend morning meetings to assist field tech when on PTO.
10. Attend in-services for professional growth.
11. Other duties as assigned by DME Supervisor.
12. Follow personal safety and infection control guidelines.
Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to work with and adapt to multidisciplinary team approach.
2. Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
3. Demonstrate good physical health and knowledge of using appropriate body mechanics.
4. Possess organizational skills to work collectively and communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, management and participants/designated caregivers.
5. Ability to use personal computers, basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
6. Ability to use office equipment, such as the telephone, calculator, fax machine and copy machine.
Required Experience
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
3. Smartphone for usage of Asset management system application.
4. Valid and Current Class C driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage.
5. Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
6. Basic understanding and appreciation of the elderly.
7. Basic knowledge in maintenance and repair of durable medical equipment.
8. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
