The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.


Position Type

The person in this position is responsible for the operation of furniture warehouse and delivery of furniture and appliances to university residences and oversees crew of 6-10 students who deliver furniture to approximately 200 student residences. This position is also responsible for managing vending services, this is the distribution of MicroFridges and Safes during the academic year and summer. Must have ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Organize prompt delivery of furniture and appliances. Dispatch student staff with furniture and appliances in an orderly and cost-efficient manner. Oversee appropriate maintenance, parking, and cleanliness of two box trucks. Determine status of, and prepare furniture and appliances for, disposal, donation or reuse. Receive furniture deliveries from vendors and verify quantity and quality of items received. Must have ability to lift and move heavy furniture, appliances, equipment, and supplies. Maintain inventory records, conduct monthly physical inventory, and inform supervisor of inventory levels. Maintain physical inventory in warehouse to insure proper storage of items. Coordinate barcoding of furniture and appliances in the residences. Process furniture requests for central furniture warehouse. Organize and support operations during busy periods of move-in/out, transition, and cyclical projects. Support Assistant Director with summer projects of residence halls. Oversee and conduct damage billing with student staff. At the end of each semester visit empty rooms to inspect overall condition of rooms/suites/apartments. Assist in managing all Vending services operations. This includes the distribution of MicroFridges/Safes, TVs during the academic year and summer, including managing laundry facilities in residential buildings, and UPS storage program. This will also include being responsible for managing the vending service account and responding to emails, calls, website, and budget. Oversee, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff (6 10) that assist in moving and delivering furniture and appliances.


Required Skills

Requires: High School Diploma/GED, Associates degree preferred, must experience. have the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., move heavy furniture, appliances, equipment, and supplies, and five to eight years of related work experience.
