The History Department at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in African History, beginning Fall 2025.

 

 


Required Skills

The Department seeks candidates with expertise in African history, region and period open. Applicants with comparative, transnational or global perspectives are particularly welcome to apply. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research and teaching within a federally funded and internationally engaged National Resource Center. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate core courses and in fields of specialization. The History Department believes that the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs.
