Overview
Boston University’s Questrom School of Business is launching the Online MS in AI in Business (AIB) program in Fall 2026. Designed for a global community of learners, the program prepares professionals to lead in an AI-enabled business environment through a curriculum focused on responsible AI, innovation, strategy, and leadership.
The AIB curriculum is structured across four rigorous graduate modules (“Mods”), each providing 8 graduate credits, a non-credit orientation module (Mod 0), and an optional bootcamp experience:
● Bootcamp
● Mod 0: AIB Launch
● Mod 1: Foundations – Minimal Fluency in Responsible AI in Business
● Mod 2: Improvement – Redesigning Business Processes and Workflows
● Mod 3: Innovation – Creating New Sources of Value with AI
● Mod 4: Governance – Accountability, Ethics, and Sustainable AI Strategy
We are currently seeking a Learning Coach to support the Bootcamp, Mod 0, and Mod 1 learner experiences. This role is central to delivering a high-quality, student-centered online learning experience and represents a reimagined approach to learner support in an AI-enabled educational environment. The Learning Coach serves as a guide, coach, and strategic thought partner who helps learners develop critical thinking, responsible AI practices, and executive-level judgment.
The Learning Coach will work closely with learners, faculty, instructional designers, and student success professionals to support course delivery, learner engagement, feedback, and continuous improvement across the program experience.
This is a minimum one-year appointment with the opportunity for extension based on successful performance and program needs.
The Role of the Learning Coach
In the AIB program, the role of the “human” coach evolves beyond traditional teaching support and facilitation responsibilities. The Learning Coach helps learners navigate the cognitive, strategic, ethical, and professional dimensions of working with AI.
AI Usage Coach
Support learners in developing discernment around:
● When and how to appropriately use AI tools
● Critically evaluating and interrogating AI-generated outputs
● Recognizing bias, hallucinations, and limitations in AI systems
● Avoiding cognitive over-reliance on AI technologies
● Developing responsible and effective AI-enabled workflows
Higher-Order Thinking Facilitator
Guide learners in strengthening strategic and executive-level thinking by:
● Challenging superficial reasoning and assumptions
● Introducing contextual nuance and business judgment
● Encouraging deeper analysis and synthesis
● Facilitating complex problem-solving discussions
● Modeling effective decision-making in ambiguous environments
Ethical and Professional Steward
Reinforce principles of responsible AI and professional integrity by:
● Supporting ethical reasoning and accountability
● Modeling responsible AI-enabled leadership
● Addressing governance, fairness, and bias considerations
● Intervening thoughtfully in ambiguous ethical situations
Identity and Leadership Development Guide
Support learners as emerging AI-enabled business leaders by:
● Encouraging confidence and professional growth
● Supporting executive communication and collaboration skills
● Helping learners connect course concepts to real-world leadership challenges
● Reinforcing professional norms and leadership behaviors in a global environment
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to AIB Program Leadership, the Learning Coach will partner closely with faculty and program teams to deliver an engaging, rigorous, and student-centered learning experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Course Delivery & Learner Engagement (50%)
● Provide timely academic support to a large and globally distributed student population.
● Respond to learner questions and concerns in alignment with Questrom’s student-centered culture.
● Hold regular online office hours for individual learners and teams.
● Participate in and/or lead module-wide workshops and support sessions as needed.
● Monitor and engage in learner discussion forums and collaborative learning spaces.
● Support learners in effectively and responsibly using AI tools within coursework and business contexts.
● Encourage higher-order thinking, strategic reasoning, and reflective learning practices.
● Propose and implement initiatives to enhance learner engagement and the overall student experience.
● Collaborate with faculty and program teams to ensure effective course delivery.
Learner Feedback & Assessment (40%)
● Grade assignments and assessments using established rubrics and program standards.
● Provide timely, detailed, and actionable feedback to learners.
● Support end-of-module grading and learner performance evaluations.
● Contribute to daily academic operations including grade publishing, assignment tracking, late submission management, and exceptions handling.
● Maintain consistency, fairness, and integrity in learner assessment practices.
Program Improvement & Operations (10%)
● Identify and report course delivery issues, enhancement opportunities, and operational improvements.
● Contribute feedback and recommendations to support continuous improvement of the learner experience.
● Participate in weekend on-call support rotations as needed.
● Maintain updates in project management and operational tracking systems.
● Partner with the Student Success team in handling edge cases as and when required.
● Collaborate effectively with faculty, instructional designers, student success specialists, and other cross-functional teams.
● Perform additional duties in support of learner success and program delivery.
Required Skills
● Master’s degree required.
● Strong familiarity with AI use cases and emerging trends across industries.
● Familiarity with core business disciplines such as leadership, strategy, operations, finance, ethics, innovation, and data analysis.
● Strong interest in and foundational understanding of AI and its applications in business.
● Minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching, coaching, research, facilitation, or a related role.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
● Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a remote and fast-paced environment.
● Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
● Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
● Comfortable with ambiguity, emerging technology advances, and curiosity to continuously learn.
Technical Skills Requirement
● Proficiency using generative AI tools and large language model platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar technologies.
● Python proficiency.
● Google Colab.
● AI agents and agentic AI familiarity.
Preferred Qualifications
● Academic or professional background in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, AI, or related fields.
● Experience with AI-related research, projects, or applied business use cases is highly desirable.
● Experience delivering or supporting online learning experiences, preferably at scale.
● Experience working with adult or professional learners.
● Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and online collaboration platforms.
● Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
● Experience developing operational processes, documentation, or best practices.
● Interest in responsible AI, ethics, and the future of work.
