The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

The Supervisor for the Aquatics facility will assist the Flex Operations Manager in managing the personnel and day to day operations of the aquatics facility in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and policies and AAALAC and institutional guidelines and objectives. This includes but is not limited to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Aquatics Systems and Services, including all satellite aquatic facilities on the medical campus. The supervisor will oversee the day to day schedules of 2-3 Aquatics care techs and have oversight of the workflow. While the supervisor will have supervisory responsibilities, they will also participate in all aspects of the workload, as needed. This position will work with the Operations Manager to mentor and train staff, maintaining the facilities according to university and government policies, procedures and standards with an emphasis day-to-day operations. This position also oversees the Quality Assurance/Health monitoring program and quarantine. They will maintain appropriate Aquatics Systems and Husbandry records. This position is expected to be able to operate independently within the facility while keeping the Operations Manager aware of any issues that may require external assistance or approval to resolve. This position will focus on aquatics but may be required to work with other species as the needs of the department change. Other duties will include working with the Operations Manager and veterinary staff to improve the scholarship (posters, publications) of the aquatics core.


Required Skills

Associate's/vocational degree with 5 years of experience or Bachelor's with at least 2 years of experience. Experience managing staff is preferred.
