The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

The HR Business Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity of SAP’s Organizational Management (OM) and Personnel Administration (PA) modules by performing data corrections and supporting process improvements based on system functionality. This role plays a key part in enhancing HR operations by analyzing workflows, recommending business process enhancements, and conducting system testing to ensure alignment with established goals.

The analyst develops specifications for tier 1 University-wide reports, executes data pulls, and collaborates with the BUHR Analytics team to ensure consistent reporting, timely identification and resolution of data problems, and reporting optimization through automation.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining the HR website, conducting security reviews to ensure appropriate access to HR data across university systems, and participating in the administration of the BU Identity Management (BUID) process to ensure accurate issuance of staff and faculty identification numbers


Required Skills

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in HR systems, data analysis, or business process improvement.
  • Strong experience with SAP HCM modules, including but not limited to Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Manager Self-Service (MSS), Employee Self-Service (ESS), and Payroll, is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of HRIS systems, including experience with system enhancements, process improvements, and testing protocols.
  • Solid understanding of HR principles and the ability to apply them in the context of university operations and HRIS reporting.
  • Proficiency in database and spreadsheet tools; knowledge of Excel and familiarity with FileMaker Pro or similar platforms preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Query Manager and Business Warehouse (BW), including the ability to execute data pulls and develop custom reports.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, both in writing and verbally.
