The Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR) at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is seeking a Research Scientist for a one-year grant-funded position to work on an NIH funded clinical trial on smoking cessation using digital technologies in a dental setting. Specifically, the research scientist will assist with data management, analysis, and manuscript writing, including literature reviews. The position may also involve assisting with analysis and manuscript writing of a qualitative sub-study of this trial as well as grant writing. 

The research scientist will join a growing dynamic group of health psychologists and behavioral medicine experts, research staff and postdoctoral associates working on several ongoing projects and will be afforded the opportunity for professional development. Salary and benefits are competitive. 


Required Skills

Applicants must possess an advanced degree (MA, MS, PhD) in psychology, public health or related social science field plus evidence of experience with manuscript writing and data analysis.

Previous experience in tobacco-related research is a plus. The applicant must have fluent computer and analytic skills (SAS or SPSS or equivalent, reference management programs, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Position requires previous experience with manuscript writing, data management and analysis, strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, the capacity to work with a team and engage in a professional manner. Prefer 3-5 years' experience.
