Jiva Applications Analyst III

Job Summary:

The Applications Analyst III will be responsible for the maintenance and support of our care management and utilization management platform (Jiva) within IT as well as integrated cross functional tools or systems. 

Systems Analysis:  The Applications Analyst III will be responsible for documentation of high-level and detailed requirements, completing required configurations, and collaborating with key IT and business representatives.  The Applications Analyst III is the primary liaison between the business and technical staff.                                                                                                          

Maintenance and support: The Applications Analyst III will be responsible for researching and coordinating resolution of incidents impacting Jiva users.

Key Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary liaison between business and technical staff
  • Leads workgroup sessions and works with business users to document and define business requirements
  • Performs analysis and provides recommendations for new systems or improvements and redesign of current systems
  • Documents functional specifications for system solutions and enhancements to existing systems to ensure business needs are met
  • Analyzes and evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles information, and performs gap analysis
  • Transforms high level information into detailed requirements
  • Works with internal strategic sourcing, business leaders, as well as external vendors to define business and technical requirements
  • Works collaboratively with other internal IT resources such as Application Development and Quality Assurance
  • Responsible for IT Demand Management requests including requirements gathering and execution management
  • Works on medium and large size projects
  • Deliver lights-on Jiva configuration in the monthly configuration release, including Code Tables, Worklists, Assessments, Letters, and Sentinel Rules
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and drive change requests, both internal and with vendor
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

Education Required: 

·       Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) is required.

 

Education Preferred:

·       BA Certificate

·       BA Master Certificate

·       CBAP Certification

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems

·       Jiva Certification

 

Experience Required: 

  • General knowledge of CM / UM / A&G IT systems and processes
  • 5+ years progressively responsible business and information systems knowledge including eliciting, analyzing, communicating and validating business and system requirements
  • 5+ years experience in managed healthcare or insurance operations
  • Experience with relational database concepts, as well as experience testing and implementing third party applications and tools

Required Licensure, Certification or Conditions of Employment: 

·       Successful completion of pre-employment background check

 

Competencies, Skills, and Attributes: 

  • Working knowledge of MS Office products (Access, Project, Visio, PowerPoint) and SQL
  • Knowledge of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle required, with advanced skill and experience in the requirements, specification, testing, and implementation phases
  • Detail oriented, excellent proof reading and editing skills.
  • Strong analytic skills to conceptualize and envision the impact of change and propose new ways to do business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to lead and direct others in a cross-functional organization
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, problem-solve and identify and use appropriate technology to solve business problems

 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: 

  • Ability to work OT during peak periods. (Non-Exempt Positions)
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
