The AR&T Engineering 2 provides expertise in designing and developing materials and processes for existing and new products. The position also advises on a range of technical issues while providing support to Operations, Procurement, EH&S and other support groups to provide business solutions to material and process related issues and activities. 


Required Skills

• Research and development: Design and develop materials and material related processes; provide solutions the enable cost reduction, process efficiency, and operational excellence for future products.
 
• Operational Support: Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
 
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for implementation of new materials and processes   which improves the quality and manufacturability of current materials and products. 
 
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

Education Level(Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Field of Study/Area of Experience 
2+ years of experience in preferred in Chemistry, Material Science, or Material Engineering

Travel and Driving are not essential duties or functions of this job  

Travel: Up to 15%

 


Required Experience

• Demonstrated understanding of materials and processes for fuel containment and/or composites
• Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving
• Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
• Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
• Ability to research and analyze data effectively
• Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
• Strong prioritization skills
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
• Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with other to meet shared objectives.
• Ability to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances.
• Familiarity with chemical analysis and material characterization.
