Axillon Aerospace is seeking a dedicated Cement Operator to join our Manufacturing-Direct (SD) department at our Rockmart facility. This full-time, regular/at-will position is a critical role within our aerospace/defense manufacturing operations, where precision and quality are paramount. As a Cement Operator, you will be responsible for the preparation, application, and curing of cement used in the assembly and repair of aerospace components. Your work will directly impact the integrity and performance of parts that are essential for the safety and functionality of aerospace equipment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n- Prepare cement mixtures according to specific formulas and guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality.\n- Apply cement to aerospace components with precision, following engineering specifications and blueprints.\n- Operate and maintain cementing equipment, including mixers, applicators, and curing ovens.\n- Inspect and test cemented components to verify adherence to quality standards and specifications.\n- Collaborate with engineers and other manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot cementing issues and implement process improvements.\n- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.\n- Document cementing processes and results, maintaining accurate records for quality control and traceability.\n- Participate in continuous training to stay updated on industry best practices and new cementing technologies.\n\n.   This role does not require travel, allowing you to focus on your craft at our Rockmart location. Compensation for this hourly position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Required Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of cement mixing, application, and curing techniques.
  • Ability to operate cementing equipment with precision and care.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality cement application.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Responsible for collection and storage of scrap and hazardous waste drums.
  •  Must operate cement and rubber mill, reactors, and other equipment and machinery.
  •  Must maintain accurate and complete documentation of mix formulations and accurately label products.
  •  Responsible for transporting contaminated rags from the production area to designated storage areas.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience as a Cement Operator or in a similar role within the manufacturing or aerospace/defense industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with cement or adhesives in a precision manufacturing setting.
  • A track record of adhering to strict quality control standards and procedures.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining industrial cementing equipment.
  •  Occasional heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds required.
  •  Frequently lift up to 25 pounds. 
  •  Must maneuver fifty-five (55) gallon drum on hand trucks. 
  • Must grip hand tools and measuring instruments and use appropriately. 
  • Bending, squatting and stooping required. 
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
