POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Press Supervisor – 2nd Shift is a critical leadership role within the Operations team at AUTOKINITON's Lebanon, TN facility. This position is responsible for overseeing all press operations during the 2nd shift, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. Reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor and Manager, the Press Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for all press department personnel during the shift and plays a key role in driving operational excellence across the production floor.
This is a full-time, hourly supervisory role that requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in stamping press operations, team management, and continuous improvement methodologies. The ideal candidate will bring 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive industry, and will demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and direct all press department associates during the 2nd shift, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. Monitor press operations to ensure equipment is running efficiently and at optimal capacity, coordinating with maintenance personnel to address any mechanical issues or downtime promptly. Conduct daily shift start-up meetings to communicate production goals, safety topics, and quality expectations to all team members. Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, conducting regular safety audits and ensuring all associates are trained and compliant with safety procedures. Oversee the setup, changeover, and operation of stamping presses, ensuring proper tooling, die setup, and material handling procedures are followed. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including production output, scrap rates, downtime, and labor efficiency, and implement corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify and resolve quality issues, implementing root cause analysis and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence. Manage associate performance through coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Coordinate with the 1st shift supervisor to ensure smooth shift transitions, accurate handoff of production status, and continuity of operations. Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, participating in kaizen events and process improvement projects. Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and documentation in compliance with company and customer requirements. Assist in the training and development of new and existing associates, ensuring all team members are cross-trained and capable of performing multiple roles within the department. Communicate effectively with Operations Management regarding production status, personnel issues, and any operational concerns requiring escalation.
PAY AND SHIFT TIMES:
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $61,900.00 to $103,100.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is assigned to the 2nd Shift at the Lebanon, TN facility. No per diem is associated with this position.

Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce on a 2nd shift production environment
- In-depth knowledge of stamping press operations, including die setup, tooling changeover, and press maintenance coordination
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, and production specifications
- Solid understanding of automotive quality systems including IATF 16949, PPAP, and control plan requirements
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, and root cause analysis
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and the ability to enforce and promote a culture of workplace safety
- Ability to track, analyze, and report on key production metrics including OEE, scrap rates, downtime, and labor efficiency
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for shift reporting, associate coaching, and cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook for documentation and reporting purposes
- Ability to conduct performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and associate development conversations in a professional manner
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to act quickly and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of material handling procedures and proper use of press-related equipment and tooling
- Ability to coordinate shift transitions and communicate production status accurately to incoming supervisors and management
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing execution systems (MES) for production tracking and reporting

Required Experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for automotive stamping or metal forming operations
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of supervisory or lead experience in a press or stamping department within a high-volume production facility
- Demonstrated experience overseeing 2nd shift or off-shift operations, including managing associate performance and maintaining production targets without direct management oversight
- Hands-on experience with stamping press setup, die changeover, and troubleshooting press-related mechanical issues
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen events, and waste reduction projects
- Background in automotive quality systems and familiarity with customer-specific requirements from major OEM manufacturers
- Experience conducting safety audits, toolbox talks, and enforcing OSHA compliance on the production floor
- History of successfully training, developing, and cross-training production associates to improve workforce flexibility and capability
- Experience preparing and presenting shift reports, production summaries, and KPI data to operations management
- Associate degree (2-year degree) in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field required; additional education or certifications in manufacturing or operations management is a plus
- Experience working in a team-oriented culture with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments including quality, maintenance, and engineering
- Prior experience with corrective action processes including root cause analysis, 8D problem solving, or similar structured methodologies
