Controls Tech

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position.  However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

• To maintain or improve upon all hardware required for control systems located on facility floor.
• Understand and support PLC and HMI programs located in equipment on the facility floor.
• Understand and support robotic programming located in equipment on the facility floor. (ABB S4, Motoman MRC XRC NX100, Fanuc RJ2 RJ3)
• Assist engineers in specifying ancillary robotic welding equipment including weld guns, torches, cabling, dress out, tool changers, tip dressers, and torch cleaners.
• Use computer based engineering software and equipment: (PLC and HMI base programs, PC based programs, CAD based programs)
• Test suspect control or electrical devices for failures
• Travel Required
• Other duties as assigned
• Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
• Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime
• Regular and predictable attendance required
• Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor
