AXIS ENGINEERING- Electrician Leader


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs power supply, wiring and Conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines, equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses the malfunction with other personnel from other affected departments, including production, maintenance, and tool room, to diagnose the malfunction.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of the machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
  • Pushes buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, earplugs, etc.).
  • Able and willing to be a company safety trainer.
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
  • Able to travel up to 75%
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

      Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent to a two-year college or technical school; or three plus years of related experience and /or training. Journeyman Certification preferred.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

      Ability to troubleshoot equipment/machinery

·         Knowledge of / Proficient in:

o   Blueprint Reading

o   Electrical systems

      High Level of communication

      Ability to train associates

      Adaptive to a fast-paced environment.

 

 

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Leads associates in the Electrical Area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

 

Duties include but are not limited to standing, walking, bending, lifting, lift, talking, and hearing, with an ability to travel.  When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, or hazardous materials.
