The Operations Superintendent reports directly to the Operations Manager and will oversee the activities of the Shift and Supervisors to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction. Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Foster an employee engagement culture conductive to maximize employee morale and productivity.
- Establish and monitor overall Plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Incorporate shop floor organization and safety among all Associates.
- Enact contingency plans as needed; escalates and direct activities during systems problems, disasters, etc.
- Identify potential problems, troubleshoots escalate issues to management, and participate in analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
- Coach Shift Supervisors to attain maximum levels of production utilization and efficiency.
- The role is a key function of the Operations Team and reports to the Operations Manager.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or some college/training and 5+ years of career progression toward operations management at a metal assembly manufacturer within automotive industry.
- Demonstrate Plant leadership skills that coach and empower Associates to achieve production goals.
- 5+years’ experience in manufacturing safety requirements, production metrics including shift KPIs, lean manufacturing, CI initiatives, etc.
- Proven ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to meet production goals while meeting customer deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency MS Office, ERP (e.g. QAD, SAP, etc.).
