Job Description/Roles

  • Review the data required for die quotes (BOM, CAD, Drawing, GD&T and other documents)
  • Review essential data for die quotations, including BOM, CAD models, drawings, GD&T, and supporting documents
  • Determine the appropriate stamping process (Progressive, Transfer, or Tandem) based on part and production requirements
  • Organize and structure data according to process needs and manage quote requests with designated tool shops
  • Evaluate and consolidate quotations received from tool shops into standardized formats
  • Develop preliminary process and method plans
  • Estimate blank size requirements using FTI (Forming Suite) for the stamping process
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for stamped parts, covering material, press and die/tooling costs
  • Document and maintain costing details within Quotation/Costing system
  • Monitor timelines and track all die quotation activities to ensure timely execution
  • Collaborate regularly with Process/Die Engineering and Corporate Quotation teams

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • B.E./B.Tech with 5 years or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 7 years of experience
  • Strong skills in data handling and MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Good skills in CAD software such as CATIA V5 or UG NX, and FTI (Forming Suite)
  • Solid understanding of stamping processes (Progressive, Transfer, Tandem) and die design
  • Knowledge of blank development, forming simulations and feasibility analysis for sheet metal parts
  • Familiarity with tool costing, build timelines, and piece price estimation for stamped components
  • Understanding of press operations and tooling requirements
  • Hands-on experience in tool shops and direct interaction with shop floor operations
  • Fluent in English (spoken, written and reading)
  • Strong communication and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Capable of delivering results under tight deadlines
