EHS COORDINATOR

 

JOB DESCRIPTION;

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide the necessary environmental, health and safety skills and leadership to support the EHS Manager and the plant to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

·       Provide support consistent with plant EHS safety plan goals.

·       Support all environmental, health and safety compliance.  Maintain communications with EHS Manager, Plant Leadership and Plant Associates as required.

·       Support the development and maintenance of the annual EHS Safety plan and objectives.

·       Coordinate the EHS training of all new hires.

·       Support and maintain plant wide high standards for 5S.

·       Assist in the development and coordination of all safety policies and procedures.

·       Support the interaction with federal, state, and local environmental agencies on plant safety and environmental issues.

·       Support the ISO 14001 process.

·       Train managers, supervisors and associates in incident notification requirements and preparing incident reports, identification of root causes and the implementation of corrective actions by use of the AGG Safety System.

·       Development and rollout of weekly toolbox talks.

·       Coordinate the safety suggestion program.

·       Coordinate the training, implementation, and scheduling of Job Safety Risk Analysis program.

·       Coordinate the training and implementation of the Contractor EHS training program.

·       Coordinate the Physical Hazard Observation process for the Safety Committee hourly team.

·       Update the weekly KM report with safety metrics.

·       Coordinate annual audiometric testing.

·       Coordinate the scheduling and agenda for the Safety Committee meetings.

·       Review AIC entries for accuracy, communicate with AIC users for updates to entries, and development of causal analysis reports.

·       Coordinate PPE assessments.

·       Coordinate annual fire extinguisher inspections with third party vendor.

·       Conduct annual review of Safety Data Sheets.

·       Coordinate emergency response drills.

·       Perform Pedestrian/Powered Industrial Vehicle audits for Plant 1.

·       Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring (noise surveys/air sampling).

·       Participate in required audits and inspections.

·       Participate in EHS programs/events (e.g. ergo assessments, SLAM events, special programs).

·       Assumes other duties as directed by Manager.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·       Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the EHS field. Associate degree in a safety related field or environmental science

·       Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.

·       Microsoft Office experience required.

·       Ability to objectively assess problems.

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

·       Strong problem resolution skills, along with customer service and team orientation skills.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Duties include but are not limited to: stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk and hear.  Ability to travel.  Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration and hazardous materials.
