ACC is seeking a part-time, temporary, hourly staff member to provide general assistance with Workforce and Community Programs Office functions, activities, and tasks under direction of the Administrative Assistant III. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to researching, troubleshooting, and resolving issues associated with student accounts, completing various data entry tasks, registering students and securing payment information, fielding and responding to student inquiries in-person and/or via email and telephone, social media and print marketing, and performing other general office tasks to  support the staff of the Workforce and Community Programs office.

This position will work approximately 28 hours each week, with an anticipated start date in January 2022 and anticipated end date of September 30, 2022 (based on budget availability). The pay rate for this position is $15.00-$18.00 per hour. The work schedule is typically weekdays between the hours of 11 AM and 6 PM; however, periodic evenings and weekends will be required. This position primarily work on-site at the Littleton campus. 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service skills across all modalities (in-person, electronic, telephone)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Intermediate mastery of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency (oral and written) in a language other than English
  • Previous higher education work experience
  • Associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution
  • Advanced mastery of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Data analysis experience

Physical & Cognitive Demands

The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.

  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports standard office supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.

Advertised Salary Range

Starting pay rate for this position is $15.00 - $18.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA non-exempt position. This position can work up to nine months, based on budget availability. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.

Benefits

Medical insurance is offered to instructors and other variable hour employees who have worked, on average, at least 30 hours per week in a 12-month period. Hourly staff generally do not meet this average since hourly staff may not work more than 28 hours each week. Sick leave is granted in accordance with SB20-205, Sick Leave for Employees, accrued at one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Non-student hourly staff are required to contribute to Colorado PERA at a fixed percentage of their salary and do not contribute to Social Security. ACC/CCCS student employees are not eligible to participate in PERA. ACC/CCCS offers three tax-deferred investment plans, including 401(k), 403(b) and 457.
