Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a temporary Analytics Specialist in the Client Value department, reporting to the Director of Client Value Analytics.
The role will reside in the Washington, DC office with hybrid work capabilities and will assist in supporting and advancing the firm’s Analytics and Intelligence offerings. Key responsibilities will include: (i) helping gather, analyze, and communicate data to support analysis and provide insights that assist business leaders and management in decision-making; (ii) supporting the Director in tracking performance based on financial and business objectives; and (iii) working with cross-functional teams to assist in the development and implementation of data-driven solutions aimed at improving business growth and operational efficiency.
The Specialist will support the Client Value Analytics Team and other stakeholders in understanding business needs and helping to develop analytical frameworks to address them. This will include gathering data from various sources, such as internal databases, market research, and external data providers, to identify insights and trends that can assist in decision-making. The Specialist will be expected to contribute to these efforts while ensuring excellent service to the firm’s attorneys, advisors, and staff.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Learn about the firm’s business and financial operations and assist in evaluating key drivers.
- Help implement analytics solutions to support the firm’s business needs and specific practice requirements.
- Assist in developing reports and utilizing technology platforms to improve performance insights.
- Communicate data findings to stakeholders, helping identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support data analysis efforts to provide tailored insights and assist with revenue-generation initiatives.
- Contribute to data analysis projects, helping create insights and visualizations for decision makers.
- Help identify analytic needs within practice groups and suggest opportunities to add value.
- Assist with practice, department, and firm initiatives through data mining and analytics.
- Support the implementation of processes, dashboards, and tools to encourage user adoption and improve financial intelligence.
- Stay updated on data automation tools, track information, and help with software implementation.
Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- BA or BS required
- Experience in client service-oriented roles, with a preference for a background in analysis
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn new software
- Some experience with data-driven analysis and financial analytics
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases, or a willingness to learn
- General knowledge of industry business practices and ability to handle confidential information
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills, including oral, written, and visual presentations
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across different departments
- Good organizational skills and a proactive approach to executing tasks
The anticipated hourly range for this position in Washington, DC is $28.00 to $35.00.
