Akebia is seeking an SVP, Customer Engagement, responsible for strategic oversight of Commercial Operations, Market Access, and Field Sales to ensure aligned and coordinated account planning and field execution to drive revenue growth across our portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the SVP Customer Engagement is an essential leadership role that will help refine and execute the commercial strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing strategic account plans and can flawlessly translate strategies into effective actions and results.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic oversight of account teams development and implementation of strategic account plans to drive Vafseo utilization and net sales growth.
- Lead a cross-functional commercial team including Field Sales, Market Access, National Accounts and Commercial Operations to drive strong collaboration and coordination.
- Develop and execute strategies and tactics with key customers to ensure organizational productivity, analyzing market dynamics and trends to support brand objectives.
- Attracting, recruiting, and retaining high caliber team members. Providing effective management and leadership of direct and indirect reports.
- Work Closely with Commercial Leadership to drive go-to-market strategies, and collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Finance, to achieve growth goals.
- Develop annual operating budget and support the development of sales compensation plans.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline
- 15+ years of relevant experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with a deep understanding of sales, market access, and commercial operations functions within the pharmaceutical industry.
- 5+ years of management experience, leading high-performing teams across diverse functions, including Sales, Commercial Operations, and Market Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, MPH preferred
- Renal therapeutic area experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior management and establish effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker and decision maker with strong track record of developing strategic recommendations by incorporating a diverse set of stakeholder input and feedback
Compensation:
Targeted Base: $346,496 - $428,025*
*Base Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Base pay is only one component of the company’s total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, etc.
