Job Summary:

 

Akebia is looking for a strategic, mission-oriented, and collaborative Associate Director, Product Marketing to be an integral part of an innovative, performance driven Marketing team.  The Associate Director, Product Marketing position will join the team that launches Vafseo with a specific focus on digital marketing and launch insights generation.  This candidate will bring best in class digital capabilities and lead development of unique and innovative solutions to reach Health Care Professionals and dialysis patients to increase Vafseo brand awareness, build loyalty with customers, and support brand adoption with target audiences.  This candidate will also lead Market Research initiatives to support strategic decision making and drive business growth, with responsibilities including gathering and synthesizing insights about the Vafseo launch, key customer segments, patients, and other Marketing initiatives. Expertise in market research methodologies, data analysis, and business acumen will contribute to the success of this candidate and Akebia.   

 

Akebia has a strong cross-functional team, and this position will serve as an integral member to advance strategic market research and digital tactical plans. The Associate Director, Product Marketing will partner closely with the Field Sales Team, Commercial Analytics, Franchise Marketing, Legal, Regulatory and Medical Affairs colleagues in order to successfully develop and implement digital programs and other initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of professional experience in pharmaceutical marketing, experience in the renal category a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of HCP or patient product management experience
  • Digital Marketing experience
  • Market Research experience

Skills:

  • Develop strategic, multi-channel non-personal promotion plans
  • Proficient in identifying market research needs, commissioning studies, and leveraging insights
  • Able to analyze and interpret market data and apply insights to marketing plans/tactics
  • Skilled at managing projects and processes on time and within established budgets
  • Capable of working independently, efficiently, and effectively within a cross-functional team
  • Able to work within a highly regulated promotional environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Successful at building relationships in cross-functional teams and with agency partners
  • Capable of directing work of agency partners to drive key initiatives on time and within budget

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic digital brand marketing plans/campaigns across customer and patient segments
  • Create omnichannel (or multi-channel) experience to reach HCPs across their digital journeys and utilize insights to discover progressive platforms to reach audience in unique ways
  • Lead digital initiatives including, 3rd party endemic programs, paid search optimization, and other media plans
  • Develop digital health care professional (HCP) and patient promotional materials to support strategic initiatives
  • Lead agency support selection, design research questionnaires, and synthesize market research insights to develop strategic recommendations for promotional plans
  • Navigate tactics through Promotional Review Committee with legal, regulatory, and medical affairs, as needed
  • Participate in development of annual brand plan

Work Environment:  Boston area-based hybrid role.  Up to 15% travel to attend sales meetings, customer visits, and relevant medical meetings/congresses within the U.S. 

Compensation:

Targeted Base: $181,452.84 - $224,147.62*

*Base Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Base pay is only one component of the company’s total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, etc.
