This position is based out of our Long Beach or Bakersfield, CA office and is eligible for a 9/80 schedule. The base annual salary for this posted position is reasonably expected to range from $110K to $130K, with a target annual bonus of 15% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program.  Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience. Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision, training, and development of accounting staff
  • Managing and reviewing staff work to ensure it is timely and accurate
  • Preparation of external and internal reporting including owner reports, reports for management, and reports for other departments within CRC
  • Variance analysis, root cause analysis, with explanations and corrections for future periods
  • Multiple company General Ledger accounting, Journal Vouchers, and Account Reconciliations
  • Using problem solving skills, analytical thinking, and communication to complete internal and external stakeholder requests as assigned
  • Assistance in collection of information for accuracy and compliance with FAR requirements and regulatory standards (based on agreements) & monthly meetings with operations/ DOE – Senior team will continue leading these calls
  • Coordinate time allocation updates for use by payroll for updates time allocation amongst CTV & CTV JV projects
  • Support the preparation of outlooks and business plans for approval by the JV PD&I Committee
  • Assisting manager on comply with the FAR SF 1408, CAS regulations and other government requirements/ DOE
  • Ensure all carbon contracts are complete and accurately recorded
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of all new Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs) through the OneCal system

Required Experience

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting and Finance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Seeks additional responsibilities
  • Adapts well to changes in responsibilities and workloads

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Oil and Gas Industry experience
  • Previous supervisor experience
  • Experience with SAP and/or Oracle
