The CRC Supply Chain Department is seeking to fill a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Advisor position. The role will be based out of the Bakersfield, CA office and will be eligible for a 9/80 schedule. 

  • Execute supply strategies that ensure uninterrupted flow of materials and services, required in support of Company activities while delivering cost savings to operations. 
  • Conduct analyses to build spend baselines, analyze market trends and estimate savings potential using best practices, TCO analysis, benchmarking, etc.
  • Analyze market trends in new technologies and best available technology for operations to enable strategic purchasing
  • Identify value creation opportunities
  •  Develop and implement sourcing project plans, actions, milestones, key deliverables, cost savings plans, metrics, lead times and buying channel optimization strategies
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the assigned spend categories
  • Develop and execute against savings targets
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and contractors
  • Manage a portfolio of contracts
  • Work within multiple functional categories
  • Maintain familiarity with CRC policies, Supply Chain procedures and Master Service Agreements
  • Responsible for contract negotiations, contracting activities and compliance procedures
  • In conjunction with internal customers, coordinate the development of demand forecasts based on business plans, ensuring alignment of operational needs and supply chain strategies
  • Facilitate Supplier Quality Management (SQM) meetings, identify and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all aspects of the procurement function

Required Skills

  • 5-10 years Supply Chain experience w/Bachelor’s degree in either Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent or relevant industry experience including exposure to the following: 
      • Developing and initiating contracts
      • legal issues related to supply and contracts
      • contract administration including market intelligence and demand planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Process problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Adaptable and customer focused in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment across boundaries
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Strong action orientation 
  • Exhibit a high degree of ethics/integrity
  • Ability to multi-task/prioritize in a deadline environment
  • Strong PC/Software skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP Systems (SAP or Oracle)
  • 5+ years of industry experience in the Oil & Gas or Service Company Industry
  • General knowledge of oil and gas industry/operations
  • Experience developing and initiating contracts
