In August 2022, CRC entered into a joint venture with Brookfield Renewable, who committed an initial $500 million to invest in carbon capture & storage projects.
CTV is seeking an experienced professional to join the commercial function to originate CO2 emissions and drive the early-stage development of commercial projects. The position will be based out of our Long Beach, CA office and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The base annual salary for this posted position is reasonably expected to range from $150k to $200K, with a target annual bonus target of 20% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience. Responsibilities:
· Work directly under the Carbon Solutions Commercial lead to engage and create market opportunity for CTV’s clean energy business. This includes the origination of new CO2 project opportunities with the ability to drive the project through the development process.
· Facilitate commercial, technical, strategic, and contracting discussions with customers as well as key internal stakeholders including legal, accounting, land, geologists, engineering, risk and corporate development.
· Communicate and make commercial recommendations with the input of marketing, legal, credit, and other critical stakeholders within the organization.
· Work with internal stakeholders to assess opportunities and build out offers and, prospectively, the suite of services necessary to support commercial agreements.
· Be able to track, maintain and manage milestones, obstacles and needs for the CTV commercial function pre-contract and post-contract execution.
· Work with the Corporate Development team to forecast opportunity economics and drive transaction approval at the executive level.
Required Experience
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree at minimum, MBA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years work experience in the oil and gas industry, power, or renewable energy space
• 4+ years originating or developing projects in the energy transition / power / renewable sectors.
• Contract negotiation and management experience with PPA’s, VPPA’s, Land Lease, and other
• Willingness to learn new facets of the organization, and ability to receive directive and work independently.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Additional programming skills a plus.
• Ability to establish immediate credibility with internal and external stakeholders and build relationships / achieve goals through influence.
• Creative thinker with the ability to seek innovative solutions to complex technical/business problems.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial, ever-changing environment.
• Detailed oriented and organized.
• Travel will be required.
