The Temporary Program Specialist will also work with the ORG team to produce video content, funding alerts, and other materials for the ORG newsletter, website, and internal grants hub. The ideal candidate is resourceful, organized, detail-oriented, and sensitive to confidential information. This position reports to the director of Sponsored Research. 

This position is fully grant-funded and contingent on grant funding.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts/Cinematic Arts or related field.
Required Experience
  • One to two years of experience generating video content.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
  • Produce video content for the ORG newsletter, website, and internal grants hub. This includes filming, scheduling, and coordination, content editing, and producing short videos to equip and encourage the APU grants community. 
  • Research funding opportunities: set up online searches of funding announcements through Pivot (online database featuring grant opportunities), preparation of updated lists for internal review, post online on the office Google site, and perform other associated tasks. Pivot training will be provided, but this task will be done mostly independently.
  • Support the Director of Sponsored Research with the production of the ORG newsletter: design format and graphics, gather information on a biweekly basis, maintain a database of PIs and users receiving the newsletter, prepare for internal review, monitor, and incorporate feedback.
  • Produce training materials: edit existing videos and prepare for final review, edit training pages on the ORG Grants hub, and post materials. This task will be done mostly independently.
  • Assisting with the administrative aspects of projects.
  • Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as required by the supervisor.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, with the project team, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the project team, site staff and liaisons, and other project stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills for assisting with project material (meeting agendas, minutes).
  • Skill for producing video and graphics content.
  • Skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Apps for presentations, reports, and conferences.
  • Willingness to work occasional evening hours.
  • Ability to manage details and follow through.
  • Must be a collaborative and effective team member and team builder.

  • Requires repetitive motion and sitting at a computer keyboard.
  • Hearing and speaking on the telephone.
  • Meetings may require walking and driving to various University locations.
  • Ability to pull, push, bend, grasp, reach, and lift 20 lbs.
Visual Demands
  • Computer monitor and reading.
Environment
  • Pleasant office setting, a comfortable temperature.
Technologies
  • Proficient in Google Apps (e.g., Google Drive), Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Compensation

  • Grade 8: $21.44 to $24.66 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
