ZU Worship Director (Part-Time) - Undergraduate and International Admissions
Student Affairs
The ZU Worship Director is responsible for all aspects of the APU Worship Travel Team's development, including vision creation and strategic planning, as well as recruiting and mentoring student musicians and singers. This part-time position will involve significant collaboration with APU's VP of Enrollment Management, Admissions staff, Chapel Programs, School of Music, and student leaders. This role will also partner closely with the Office of Admissions to leverage worship events as a powerful ministry tool for student recruitment.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Required Experience
- Seven to ten years of experience in leading worship in a church or ministry setting.
- Demonstrated passion for worship and a heart for student ministry.
- Proven leadership experience, preferably in a worship or ministry setting.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in student recruitment or outreach is a plus.
- Familiarity with APU's mission and values is preferred.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Leadership and Development

- Vision Creation and Strategic Planning: Define the vision, mission, and strategic goals for the APU Worship Travel Team (Zu Worship), aligning with the university's overall mission and strategic plan.
- Team Formation and Development: Recruit, audition, and mentor talented student musicians and singers to form a cohesive and impactful worship team. Develop training programs and leadership opportunities for team members.
- Budget Oversight and Resource Allocation: Manage the team's budget to ensure the responsible allocation of resources.
Worship Leadership and Ministry

- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide spiritual leadership and mentorship to the worship team, fostering a culture of discipleship, prayer, and authentic worship.
- Spiritual Formation and Guidance: Create opportunities for spiritual growth and development within the team.
Collaboration with Admissions and Enrollment

- Developing and Executing Recruitment Strategies: Partner with the Office of Admissions to develop and implement recruitment strategies that effectively reach prospective students through worship events.
- Organizing Outreach Events: Plan and execute outreach events at Christian high schools, camps, conferences, worship nights, and other venues, showcasing the APU Worship Travel Team and engaging with prospective students and their families.
- Building Relationships: Cultivate meaningful relationships with prospective students and families, serving as a point of contact and providing information about APU's spiritual life and student experience.
- Ambassador for APU: Serve as an ambassador for the APU brand, communicating the university's values and mission to prospective students and the broader community.

Physical Demands
- Lift and carry equipment such as musical instruments and sound equipment.
- Driving to off-campus events (valid driver's license required).
- Set up and tear down equipment for events, including lifting and moving stands, speakers, and other items.
Visual Demands
- Computer monitor and reading.
Environment
- Pleasant office, comfortable temperatures.
- Multiple conversations and transactions occurring simultaneously.
Technologies
- Proficient in Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- Grade 16: $40.96 to $47.11 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
