This Program Coordinator position will provide support to TRIO McNair Scholars Program and HSI Title V grants, by providing budget, program, and administrative support to both grants.
The McNair Scholars Program contributes to enhancing post-baccalaureate success by steering APU students to the appropriate graduate programs and ensuring students are well prepared, academically, personally, and emotionally, for their graduate experiences. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for directly assisting the McNair Grant Project Director to provide support for the implementation of the McNair Grant. This position is grant-funded and subject to terms of the award, which is eligible for renewal. This grant cycle ends on September 2028.
The Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Title V Grant supports campus efforts to strengthen infrastructure and student success programs in support of APU’s role as a Hispanic Serving Institution. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for directly assisting the Title V Project Director and Program Manager to provide support for the implementation of the Title V Grant.
This position is grant-funded and subject to terms of the award, which is NOT eligible for renewal This grant cycle ends on September 30, 2027.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two years of program management/administrative assistant-related work, preferably in higher education, working with first-generation/low-income student populations.
- Experience with program planning and implementation.
- Office management experience; ability to work independently on complex assignments and office operations.
- Experience with budget development and management, and day-to-day budget functions such as purchasing, travel expenditures, and supply orders.
- Experience coordinating tasks associated with data collection/monitoring and program evaluation.
- Grant administration preferred.

- Provide administrative support to the Project Directors and Title V Program Manager.
- Carry out all general office duties.
- Maintain student participant records.
- Serve as the Office Manager, receiving visitors and answering telephone and emails, providing courteous and complete information about the project.
- Create and maintain records as required.
- Safeguard the integrity of personnel, office, and participant files in accordance with FERPA, APU and TRIO McNair, and HSI Title V project guidelines.
Skills:
- General clerical/Office Manager experience.
- Ability to work independently on complex clerical assignments, purchase orders, budget management,
- TRIO/HSI Title V Regulations (preferred), student file management, data collection, etc.
- Experience coordinating office operations, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Apps, as well as online virtual platforms.
- Strong word processing and keyboarding skills of 50 wpm with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong clerical, telephone, oral, and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate exceptional multicultural competence.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Must be able to keep information confidential.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
- In agreement with the purpose and goals of Azusa Pacific University in providing a Christian-based higher education for its students.
- Intermittent sitting and standing.
- Requires keyboard and 10-key work.
- Extensive telephone usage.
- Ability to lift, pull, grasp, bend and reach.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

- Pleasant office setting, a comfortable temperature.
- Multiple conversations and transactions occurring simultaneously.
- Proficient in Google Workspace products., Microsoft Office products, and virtual online platforms.
Compensation
- Grade 7: $19.49 to $22.41 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
