Description:
The School of Business and Management seeks a dynamic and innovative temporary faculty member to teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in Digital Marketing for the 2025-2026 academic year. The position will run from August 16, 2025 - August 15, 2026. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of contemporary digital marketing strategies and tactics, coupled with significant professional experience in the industry and can clearly articulate the role that Faith plays in industry. A high level of student engagement is paramount, requiring the ability to create an interactive and stimulating learning environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging and current course content in various areas of digital marketing, including but not limited to:
    • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).
    • Social Media Marketing and Management.
    • Content Marketing and Strategy.
    • Segmentation and Targeting.
    • Web and Mobile Marketing.
    • Digital Analytics and Measurement.
    • Customer and User Experience.
    • Global Marketing.
    • Paid Digital Advertising (e.g., Google Ads, Social Media Ads).
    • Emerging Digital Marketing Trends (e.g., AI in Marketing, Influencer Marketing).
  • Foster a high level of student engagement in the classroom through the use of diverse pedagogical approaches, including case studies, corporate projects, discussions, guest speakers, and technology integration.
  • Work with the Department Chair to grow the Department of Digital and Strategic Marketing among incoming freshman and transfer students.
  • Support the Department Chair in the execution of student experiences specifically designed to enhance the portfolio of a Digital Marketing student.
  • Assess student learning through effective and timely grading of assignments, exams, and projects.
  • Connect and engage with students outside of the classroom by maintaining regular office hours in order to provide individual support and guidance to students (professionally, personally, and spiritually).
  • Contribute to the department and university through participation in meetings and other activities as appropriate.
  • Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the field of digital marketing.
  • Provide active and appropriate engagement on LinkedIn designed to promote the Department of Digital and Strategic Marketing and connect students with jobs and internships.
Level: 
  • Assistant or Associate Professor.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of an MBA, Master's degree in Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing, or a closely related field.
  • Terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, etc.) is preferred.
  • Substantial and demonstrable professional experience in the digital marketing industry with a proven track record of successful campaign development and execution.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, strategies, and current best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with learning management systems and other relevant educational technologies.
  • Evidence of innovative teaching methods and the ability to create a dynamic learning environment.
Experience:
  • Evidence of teaching excellence is desired.
  • Demonstration of using practical, real-world assignments to the classroom is desired.
  • Prior experience in integration of faith with the discipline is preferred.
Workload:
  • This is a part-time, 9 month faculty position. Teaching load of 12 units per academic year is required. The faculty will be working under the general direction of the Chair of the Department of Digital and Strategic Marketing within the School of Business and Management. 
Hire Date: August 16, 2025.

Compensation:

  • $34,320 to $62,730 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
  • Compensation will be based on experience, rank, and qualifications.
