Description:
The School of Business and Management seeks a dynamic Business faculty member, with prior industry experience, specializing in Strategic Management and Strategic Foresight. Additional expertise and experience in one of the following areas is a plus (Public Administration, International Business).
Specialization:
- A research agenda with potential or demonstrated ability to publish and/or podcast. Specialization in Strategy, Strategic Management, and Organizational Systems is required. Experience working in or studying International Business is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Duties will include teaching, active research/scholarship, and university service.
Teaching and Student Development

- Deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate-level courses on a variety of topics related to business, including strategy, strategic management, strategic foresight, and performance improvement.
- Incorporate experiential learning opportunities that will bridge the gap between theory and practice, bringing the content to life for the students.
Student Mentorship/Development
-
- Serve as a mentor to students, providing guidance on course content, academic planning, career options, faith and work, and more.
- Advise student-led business clubs, cultivate and lead student experiences inside and outside of the classroom that connect to building business acumen (e.g. corporate visits, internships, corporate projects, study away, etc.)
Research and Thought Leadership

- Conduct and publish impactful research on current industry topics and trends.
- Stay on trend with current business tools and workplace practices used for strategy development, strategic foresight, and more.
Alumni, Community and Industry Engagement

- In concert with the Dean, connect with alumni who are business leaders who are able to share experiences and mentor current students.
- Build relationships with local and global business leaders as a way of providing experiential learning opportunities and internship/job connections to our students.
- Facilitate partnerships with industry professionals to bring real-world expertise and networking opportunities to the classroom.
Service to the University

- Participate in school and university committees.
- Contribute to the school’s strategic initiatives by fostering engagement with students and preparing them for the workplace of tomorrow.
Level: Assistant or Associate Professor
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or DBA in a business-related discipline with a focus on Strategy, Strategic Management, Strategic Foresight or a closely related field from an accredited institution. MBA is preferred.
Experience:
- Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
- Industry experience leading strategic initiatives.
Workload: 10-month contract
Hire Date: Open until filled.

Compensation:
- $68,640 to $125,460 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
- Compensation will be based on experience, rank, and qualifications.
