The LAN leads will support and direct the network engineers in their regions. They will assist in coordinating with the J6 and other agencies with provide knowledge transfer to the NTS-LAN government staff. The LAN lead will work under general supervision, developing the requirements of a product from inception to conclusion. He or she develops required specifications for simple to moderately complex problems. The LAN lead will coordinates with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical network matters.
Active Secret clearance required***
Must possess DoD IAT Level II Certification
This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates within commutable distance (50 miles) of the following locations:
-Fort Belvoir VA,
-Richmond VA,
-Tracy CA,
-Battle Creek MI,
-New Cumberland PA
-Columbus OH
Required Experience
- Five (5) years of progressive LAN experience
- Must possesses experience having completed two LAN programs/Projects/Initiatives, with one LAN project completed within the last 3 years.
- Example responsibilities of a LAN Project/Program/Initiative include:
- Assist Network Engineering team with equipment lifecycle planning and installation, as well as development of technical specifications for procurement of Enterprise LAN equipment
- Coordinate with the Network Engineering team for the placement and cabling of LAN equipment within the DLA enclave
- Development of market research for new equipment and provide recommendations to Government POC
- Provide input on LAN designs and architecture as required Perform lab testing of LAN equipment
- Provide knowledge transfer to the NTS-LAN government staff Track assigned projects, provide regular updates to the Task Order Project Manager (PM) and Government POC
- Attend meetings regarding LAN support and assigned projects Effectively task, track, monitor and report on tickets, projects, and special assignments within their area of responsibility.
- Ensure LAN network diagrams are kept up to date with all diagrams being reviewed/updated at a minimum annually.

- Active Secret Clearance
- DoD IAT Level II Certification
- Highly Preferred certification in one of the following:
- CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, SCNA, CCSE NGX Plus NG with AI, CCMSE NG with AI, CSMSE NG with AI Plus VSX, NSA, ESE
