Xavier University invites applications for a Visiting Professor of Chemistry for the 2024-2025 academic year. The position is renewable for up to three years, pending continuing need. The successful candidate will contribute to our program by teaching lower-division chemistry courses.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Position Responsibilities

  • Teaching laboratory courses in General Chemistry, Physiological Chemistry for Nursing majors, and other courses as needed.
  •  Participation in the life of the Department and the University consistent with the mission of Jesuit higher education.

Required Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experiences that demonstrate a commitment to excellence in student-centered teaching and active learning.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, university administrators, and the community.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. and/or teaching experience.
  • Experience working with diverse faculty, staff, and students, and contributing to a climate of inclusivity.
