Xavier University, a Catholic University in the Jesuit tradition, the Department of Sport Science &. Management invites applications for a Visiting Faculty AY 2024/2025. The position, renewable pending need for up to three years, carries a 4/4 load. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The Sport Management, Sport Marketing, and Sport Administration programs are located in the Department of Sport Science and Management in the College of Professional Sciences. The Department of Sport Science and Management offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Exercise Science, Sport Management, and Sport Marketing, and Master of Science degrees in Athletic Training and Sport Administration.

With over 250 students enrolled in our programs, the Sport Management, Sport Marketing, and Sport Administration programs have been preparing students to be professionals sport industry for the last 30 years.

Qualifications:

Earned Master’s degree in in Sport Management or a related field.  Preference will be given to candidates with a doctoral degree, teaching experience at an accredited college or university, and relevant sport industry experience. Content areas may include Introduction to Sport Management, Sport Marketing, Professional Development, Sport Governance, Sport History, Sport Finance and Economics, experienced-based internships, and other major-specific courses given experience and/or expertise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching 4/4 load, primarily undergraduate and possibly graduate courses in Sport Management and Sport Administration.
  • Participating in departmental, college and university service activities.
  • Advising students in the areas of both academic matriculation and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned by chair.

Position:

Nine-month, non-tenure track.

Rank/Salary:

Visiting Professor. Salary commensurate to qualifications and experience.
