Summary – basic function of the role

Responsible for operating and maintaining machines that extrude or draw out materials into hoses, bars, tubes, rods, wires, or structures

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sets up, starts, and operates extruder pressure calibration tanks, spray cooling tank, cutter, recutter, water chilling system and printer
  • Selects and installs printing plates no plate cylinders and checks to insure proper alignment and registration. Operates to ensure proper application and curing of inks while complying with quality standards. Cleans color heads, printing plates, and blankets as required.
  • Observes the production of plastic tubes and makes necessary adjustment to equipment to maintain proper production rate and quality objectives.
  • Be available for any shift where training requirements are identified.
  • Understand and apply the Quality Policy, quality documentation, and company objectives to all tasks assigned
  • Act in a safe manner in all activities performed and promote the Safety Program in all processes and procedures

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Flexibility to rotate shifts as required
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; maintain effective working relationships

Education and Experience

Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience Requirements: 2+ years as extrusion operator and/or maintenance role

Physical Demands

  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required

Work Environment

Primary work environment is non-temperature controlled workshop/manufacturing facility where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee will be exposed to heavy levels of noise in workshop.
