The Electrical/Computer Engineer will work as a team member developing software, troubleshooting, and following the Land Based Engineering Site Integration (LBESi) Team System Engineering Plan (SEP). Provide lifecycle support of LBES simulators and Test Tools, which includes, but is not limited to, participation in requirements development, design reviews, peer reviews, documentation, and rapid development of prototype Test Tools to facilitate design decisions. Hardware and software system troubleshooting on new and existing simulators and plant equipment. Propose innovative solutions to improve LBES or software infrastructure. Ability to work in an industrial environment interacting with different technologies and programming languages.

We support DDG 51 Machinery Control System (MCS) hardware and software testing at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) Land Based Engineering Site (LBES). We design and develop hardware and software solutions to facilitate testing of shipboard equipment and MCS software. We provide test tools to emulate the electrical signals and Ethernet messages of various shipboard equipment. All development is done in a team environment with a focus on ownership and team accountability. Engineers frequently interface with various external teams and Subject Matter Experts from different NSWCPD branches. The work environment is highly dynamic with priorities shifting multiple times to support MCS program schedules. All solutions are deployed to NSWCPD LBES with limited opportunities to travel.

Required Experience

BS Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

Experience with C++, Java, LabVIEW, C#, SQLite, MS Access, Python, Wireshark, and troubleshooting tools such as Digital Multimeters and Oscilloscopes.

Knowledge of object-oriented programming and familiarity with electrical concepts.

Minimum 3 years of software development experience.

Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
