The Computer Science Department in the Petree College of Arts & Sciences is seeking an innovator with a passion for strategic program development whose area of expertise will bring a new dimension to the program. Successful candidates will have an ardent interest in curriculum development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a willingness to engage in community outreach for recruitment and partnership building.

We are looking for an experienced leader who demonstrates a deep commitment to academic excellence and a belief in a liberal arts education where diversity and inclusion, ethical and critical thinking, and effective communication are highly valued. A proven record of teaching is required for this nine-month, associate professor and chair of computer science position (tenure-track available for candidate with doctoral degree). At OCU, Computer Science faculty teach undergraduate and graduate courses in programming, computer architecture, theory, networking, database, mobile and game applications, big data analysis, and cybersecurity. An advanced degree in computer science (or closely related field) is required. University-level teaching experience is required and administrative experience is desired.

The department is located in the Petree College of Arts & Sciences and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science. Coursework emphasizes professional development and enhancement of skills, in depth study of computers, and a balance of abstract knowledge and practical understanding.
