THE TEAM   

Make-A-Wish America is the national headquarters for our organization, providing resources and support for our Chapters around the country. This team is comprised of innovative nonprofit professionals who elevate our mission across the organization, focusing programs that are unique to wish granting.  

 

THE ROLE   

The Senior Manager, Wish & Volunteer Center is responsible for the successful adoption and growth of the Wish & Volunteer Center (WVC), a Salesforce platform, as the primary system for wish granting and volunteer engagement teams' enterprise wide to support a quality wish granting and end-to-end volunteer engagement strategies. This position serves as the business/chapter liaison for WVC, in an AGILE development model. In addition, this position will develop reports and dashboards to meet both enterprise and chapter visibility needs. The Senior Manager partners with key stakeholders including mission subject matter experts; technology, revenue, chapter advancement and finance teams, and Make-A-Wish chapter users to ensure that system design and enhancements meet the needs of chapter staff, volunteers and other end users, that future enhancements are prioritized to meet business needs, that trainings and resources are sufficient to support user needs,  and that the system achieves the desired business value and operational efficiencies. 

 

Where You Come In 

As the Senior Manager, Wish & Volunteer Center you will:  

  • Serves as primary business/chapter liaison for the Wish & Volunteer Center initiative;
  • Functions as conduit for communications between mission subject matter experts, Information Technology, and product owners for other key organizational technology systems;
  • Becomes an expert user of the platform and fully understand its implications on wish-granting and volunteer processes, workflow and reporting at the chapter level;
  • Creates and runs reports to respond to ad hoc wish and volunteer reporting requests from other national office departments and from chapters;
  • Creates new and enhances existing Salesforce reports to meet organizational data needs. Supports chapters with reporting needs, as appropriate;
  • Empowered to make key decisions about system priorities, design requirements and implementation on behalf of stakeholders, escalating issues requiring broader discussion or feedback;
  • Provides direction to the design team on product development and prioritization. Gathers and documents business requirements for future development for communication to the design and development teams;
  • Develops chapter training resources, including Quick Resource Guides, SOPs and recorded demo trainings, as additional functionality is released into the WVC system;
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to plan and design change management, training, and implementation strategies with chapters;
  • Facilitates communications and feedback loop with chapters and end-users on product design and development, deployment plans, and planned releases;
  • Identifies and raises potential risks/roadblocks to the core team, providing proposed options and recommendations;
  • Obtain and maintain functional level understanding of all enterprise and cross system governance policies and procedures
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and demos when scheduled;
  • Performs other job-related duties, as assigned.

 

What You’ll Need   

  •   ·    Strong computer skills and comfort with technology, including prior experience working in a Salesforce system.  
  •          3  years’ experience managing large projects in a complex federated or decentralized business model.
  •          Experience supporting complex system design, process improvement or technology projects;
  •          Previous non-profit experience (Make-A-Wish experience strongly preferred).
  •          Familiarity with AGILE methodology is a plus.
  •         Position may require travel to organizational conferences and events.
