Job Summary

The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming and running various CNC Machining centers. The CNC Programmer assists the Production Supervisor in selecting the appropriate machine, tooling, and operations for efficient manufacturing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Program and maintenance of computer numeric controlled production equipment 
  • Operate one or more types of computer numeric controlled production equipment 
  • Select appropriate settings and make adjustments as necessary
  • Fabricate metallic and non metallic parts by operating equipment such as chop saw, band saw, drill press, bridgeport, and vertical machining center 
  • Identify various raw materials and outsourced parts
  • Inspect quality of manufactured product and advises managers of any concerns 

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements 
  • Ability to read and accurately use measuring tools including tape measure and caliper in fractions and decimals as well as a protractor in decimal degrees
  • Collaborates with design, planing parts/weldments for maximizing manufacturability and efficiency 
  • Maintains a safe and well-organized working environment, following all safety procedures as outlined in the safety manual 

Required Experience

  • Conversational CNC programming experience 
  • Experience operating lathes and mills
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a metal fabrication shop
  • Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours per day, 5-6 days per week 
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds unassisted
