Set up, adjust and operate multi pocket stitcher. Make necessary adjustments. Direct crew through all aspects of production. Monitor quality, output and productivity. Bring in folder signatures. Assist in feeding pockets when necessary. Clear equipment jams. Maintain the refold and tabber unit attachments. Perform quality checks as follows, correct signature in pockets caliper working correctly, correct stitches, trimming correctly (size and squareness), pagination.
Set up, adjust and operate folding equipment for finishing operations. Refine such adjustments for the weight, color, machinability and quality of paper stock being used.
Handles multiple issues, items and functions; prioritizing to achieve them as scheduled. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Performs other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Basic computer skills; knowledge of keyboard functions.
Basic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to make and read measurements.
Ability to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications.
Ability to read, understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
Standing 100% of the 8, 10 or 12 hour shift.
Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, 35 lbs. frequently and 20 pounds regularly.
Grasping with both hands for long periods of time.
Continuous eye concentration.
Ability to work overtime including weekends.

Required Skills:

1-3 years experience preferred in commercial sheetfed environment with ability to set up and operate stitchers and/or folder. Candidates with other bindery equipment experience will be given consideration.
