Mid Level Electrical Engineer - Cable and DSL

CTDI is looking for a Mid level Electrical Engineer to join our corporate Engineering team and will work as part of a dynamic team of Mechanical, Software, and Robotics Engineers, in a fast paced environment with an ever changing set of businesses and facilities to support. This position will be design, build and setup test systems for calibration and testing of parameters like High Band Ingress, Sweep, TDR and DOCSIS, MER, BER for various Cable based measurement products using signal generator, RF power meter & Sensor. Knowledge of Cable TV (CATV) and DSL testing is highly preferred.  for this role. Job duties can include:

  • Develop automated test and repair capabilities
  • Ability to build test systems and configure software for test systems.
  • Analyze technical requirements and effort associated with test systems and products.
  • Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades of different test benches related to DSL, Cable, Fiber, Wireless, Wi-Fi testing and calibration. 
  • Generate engineering documents, including schematics, diagnostics, flowcharts, and project status reports.
  • Build, test, debug and develop C#, Python, JTAG, CLI or LINUX applications.

Required Skills

  • Clear, discriminatory approach to solving engineering problems.
  • Understanding of motherboard architecture
  • Understanding of analog, digital, and microprocessor circuits.
  • Understanding of audio, video, and RF circuits.
  • Knowledge of Cable TV (CATV) and DSL testing
  • Ability to troubleshoot circuits to the component level.
  • Ability to create/analyze detailed technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to interact professionally with the customer in written and verbal communications.

Required Experience

  • B.S. in Engineering, or other technical discipline.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Test Engineering.
  • Telecommunications technical experience and overall understanding
  • Proficiency in MSOffice (Word, Excel, Access, and Project), report preparation, and data analysis
  • Experience in testing and debugging RF, analog, mixed signal ICs
  • Knowledge of Cable TV (CATV) and DSL testing
  • Ability to build test systems and configure software for test systems.
  • Experience in developing test instructions and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Lab Windows CVI
  • Working knowledge of C, C++ and LINUX.
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Clear, discriminatory approach to solving engineering problems.
  • Knowledge of LEAN is helpful.
