Xavier University, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is currently accepting applications for Adjunct Instructors to teach an introductory theology course on a rolling basis.  Candidates should be able to help support a diverse and inclusive student community. Contracts for adjunct faculty members are issued on a semester basis.

This is an in-person/on-campus position.

Minimum Qualifications: A Masters degree in theology or religious studies from an accredited college or university, and demonstrated ability to teach an introductory course in Christian theology. Previous teaching experience at the college level preferred.

Duties include:

  • Effective, engaged learner-centered instruction in an inclusive classroom environment;
  • Effective planning and preparation of classes to support student success;
  • Administration of appropriate course assessments designed adequately to measure student’s learning in connection with Xavier’s Core Curriculum;
  • Use of Xavier’s campus-wide Learning Management System, Canvas, to provide course content and maintain an electronic record of student progress; and
  • Working cooperatively with members of the Theology Department, Administrative Assistant, and the Department Chair within the College of Arts and Sciences.
