TVCCA’s Temporary VITA Assistant will be responsible for managing the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program’s phone line, ensuring clients are screened and scheduled for tax preparation appointments during the VITA tax season. The VITA Assistant will also assist with program coordination one evening a week and will assist with clerical tasks and data entry to ensure all services are properly documented. The VITA Assistant will be required to pass Basic IRS Tax Preparer Certification to best assist with client questions and to provide adequate program coordination. This position is 25 hours per week for approximately 4 months.

Required Skills

H.S. Diploma or equivalent, plus 3-5 years experience providing customer service to the public. Demonstrate strong computer, organizational, and customer service skills. Strong math skills are required and past experience with tax preparation preferred. Bi-lingual encouraged to apply.
