Production Expediter Summary: 

Assists in managing program workflows to insure delivery criteria are met and aging orders stay within program SLA requirements. Assists in on boarding of new programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Supervisors and staff to insure management of aging program orders.
    • Runs aging reports and locates oldest orders.
    • Takes steps to accelerate the production of aging orders
  • Train seasonal expeditors on aging order management techniques.
  • Elevate upsets and delays to management.
  • Assist area leads in managing their WIP queues.
  • This position has no direct reports, however, the Expeditor has a measure of authority in all production areas, only superseded by the supervisor.
  • The position provides leadership and coaching for the seasonal expeditors, working with the supervisor to get the most value from this function.
  • During slow periods the Expeditor may be called upon to perform any number of other tasks, from report generation to machine operation.

Education/Experience: Three to six months prior experience and/or training in an Expeditor position in a print environment.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills: Strong knowledge working with Email, word processing. Excel and DPCS

Work Environment: Production Floor. Work near moving mechanical parts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel for 10-12 hour shifts; reach with hands and arms; and stoop; kneel; or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
